Shine up your tiaras Toronto. Astral Media’s Family Channel is rolling out the red carpet for Disney Channel superstars Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez at the North American premiere of this summer’s highly anticipated television event Princess Protection Program. Fans can catch all the red-carpet action as it unfolds from 5 p.m. ET to 7 p.m. ET on Thursday June 18 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, located on the Canadian National Exhibition grounds in Toronto.

Millions of young Canadians know Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato from Family Channel, where they star in top-rated Disney Channel series and movies. Gomez stars in Wizards of Waverly Place, currently in its second season, and Demi Lovato stars in the recently launched series Sonny With A Chance, as well as in last summer’s ratings smash Camp Rock.

In Princess Protection Program, royalty meets reality when soon-to-be teenage monarch Rosalinda Marie Montoya Fiore (Demi Lovato) finds herself in danger and enrolls in the top-secret Princess Protection Program. As part of the covert international program, the princess moves in with Carter Mason (Selena Gomez), a shell-shocked teen from rural Louisiana. Despite their differences, the girls slowly grow to like each other and discover the true meaning of friendship. The movie was directed by Allison Liddi-Brown (Friday Night Lights) and also stars Tom Verica (American Dreams), Jamie Chung (Samurai Girl), Nick Braun, Samantha Droke (Horton Hears a Who!) and Robert Adamson.The adventure comedy Princess Protection Program has its television premiere on Family Channel on Friday, June 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, day-and-date with Disney Channel in the United States. The movie and bonus content will be available on DVD Tuesday, June 30 from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.
